Noise Pollution Regulations, 2009
Finally, the noise pollution regulations have finally been gazetted. This is the most important environment management step that Kenya has made this year. I agree with Hon. Michuki (the man to be the first to dive and swim in Nairobi River), the environment minister that we really need peace in Kenya.
For the better part of my life in my first rented house, I was living next to a church that happened to have a horn speaker directed to my apartment. That is clearly definition of hell and I thank God that now if that was to happen to me, I have my legal rights to have a peaceful night after a hard day building the nation.
Thanks to the snake rattler.

New Minister for Environment and Natural Resouces
Yesterday President Mwai Kibaki finally announced his 'bloated' cabinet. It was amazing to see the tough guy John Michuki pushed from the Ministry of Roads to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources.
This means that the notorious 'snake rattlers' in Kenya are in great trouble.
These include the industries that direct their raw industrial waste to the environment.
Michuki should immediately call for a press briefing and warn those who jeopardize our future that now they have rattled a snake for long enough, time has come to pay for their actions.
I look forward to seeing Nairobi River clean and clear, the Dandora solid waste site with a fully waste recycling plant and forests free from the likes of Musa Sirma - who imagine the earth is for them alone to exploit.
Congratulations Hon. Michuki as you embark on this auspicious responsibility!!!
